Eight cylinders... Good.

Or a 4 cylinder ;)

Like there was any chance there wasn't going to be a V8 in the Camaro.

My guess is that will have new engines, chassis/suspension...but look so similar to the previous gen that only gearheads will ever be able to tell the difference.

Honestly would like to see a turbo 4. Hell yeah.

Well I just looked through the others and there's nothing too much given away in any of them except for the last couple which I'm not quite sure what they are.

That's a lot of car to be pushed by a 4 banger. Granted we have the mustang already but the camaro seems pretty stout. Though I remember seeing somewhere that they plan on making the new gen shorter and not as portly.

REALLY interested to see how much, if any, weight is dropped from the new platform.

THE IRON DUKE IS BACK! 4CYL CAMARO RETURNS

It's on the Alpha platform which is also used by the ATS and new CTS, so it doesn't look to be too heavy I believe. Those both get 4 bangers which I believe propel them decently enough.

Yeah I figured they wouldn't give much away until right before the reveal.

Chevy currently makes the 2.0L Turbo in the Malibu and I wouldn't be too surprised to see them lay it in the New Camaro just so that they have something in the same category as the 4 banger Mustang
![]() 03/19/2015 at 10:41 |

Hopefully with a boosted output obviously. Any idea how good that 2.0T is?
![]() 03/19/2015 at 10:47 |

Yeah it's not bad. 259 Hp and 295 torque! My mom's Malibu gets through traffic just fine!

Dang! I was definitely unaware of that! Here I thought Malibus were still pretty middle of the pack.

The day will probably come...
![]() 03/19/2015 at 12:31 |

I wouldn't have a problem with the 2.0L, as long as there was a V8.

The Cobalt SS had it with 270hp, it's definitely good for more than that.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 12:42 |
|
Probably. But at that point it will be using an engine that produces twice as much power, weighs half as much, and runs on your own farts.

Wasn't that super charged, not turbo charged?
![]() 03/19/2015 at 13:09 |
|
The early ones were supercharged; made around 215-225hp. The later ones were turbo'd making 270hp.
